Hello, I’m Simon Jupp and I’m your Conservative candidate for the new Honiton & Sidmouth constituency, which includes Cullompton, Aylesbeare, Feniton, Ottery St Mary, Honiton, Dunkeswell, Beer, Branscombe, Seaton, Colyton, Musbury and Axminster.
I'm proud to live here, I care about our local area, and I want to continue to represent my home county. We live in the best part of Devon, but I have a plan to make it even better.
I will build on my track record of delivering for Devon which includes a new school, railway station, banking hub and multi-million-pound plans to help stop sewage spills.
I want to bring more healthcare closer to home, and I’ll always fight to protect our community hospitals. We have more police in our force than ever before, but we need regular patrols, with more police stations open to the public.
I’m determined to stop the boats, continue to cut NHS waiting lists, tackle inflation and create better paid jobs locally.
With our Conservative plan for the country and my plan for our part of Devon, we can make our towns and villages even better places to live.
My plan for our part of Devon
-
Protecting and improving local healthcare
All our community hospitals need to be protected. I’ve looked after Sidmouth’s and Ottery St Mary’s, and I will always stand up for them alongside our community hospitals in Honiton, Axminster and Seaton. Seaton Hospital's empty wing must be put to good use and the town needs an MP who can get the job done.
-
A better deal for local people
Local families are being priced out of the property market. We're doubling council tax on second homes and closing business rates loopholes for holiday lets, making sure everyone pays for local services. Genuinely affordable housing with infrastructure first must become a priority for councils.
-
Securing investment in our part of Devon
I have a track record of securing investment with a new school to replace Tipton St John Primary, the green light for Cullompton railway station, £1.4m to protect the rivers Sid & Otter, Sidmouth’s banking hub and more. I will continue to push for investment in local roads, railways, broadband, jobs and skills training.
-
Safer streets and more community patrols
After securing a new police station in Exmouth, I worked with the community on a successful campaign to reopen Honiton's police station to the public. With more police than ever before, I’m working with PCC Alison Hernandez to get more patrols in our communities.
-
Looking after Devon's precious environment
Our rivers, countryside, and coastline make Devon special. I'm leading a campaign to get South West Water to clean up their act and our water. I’ve led debates on their poor performance in Parliament and they’ve since announced multi-million-pound investment plans for Sidmouth, Tipton St John & Axminster.

Supporting our local farmers
Our farmers want to produce fantastic food, not fill out endless forms. I've consistently backed our farmers by hosting regular roundtables locally and leading farming debates in Parliament. I'll continue to speak up for our farmers so they can improve our national food security.
